The Holsteiners have strong hindquarters so that they can jump very high. They often win prizes at the Olympic Games and other major equestrian competitions. While recreational horses have an average height of about 155 cm, Holsteiners are clearly taller. They usually reach a height of 165 to 175 cm at the withers.
