The platypus from the Schleich® WILD LIFE theme world is one of the few egg-laying mammals. It belongs in Australia. There, the animal lives in rivers and lakes and feeds on shrimp, insects and worms. Its broad bill is reminiscent of a duck's bill. With its beak it detects electrical signals from other animals and in this way can track down prey animals. Unlike other mammals, the platypus has a very low body temperature of only 32 degrees Celsius.
